Lauren Whiteside ~ Outreach Program coordinator
Lauren Whiteside has been involved with Black Warrior Riverkeeper since its beginnings. Lauren is a Birmingham native who works for Southern Progress. While scuba diving enhanced her environmental interests, Whiteside already had a solid community service DNA: her great-uncle Judge Frank M. Johnson Jr. desegregated Alabama and legally disbanded the Ku Klux Klan in the state, and her brother David founded Black Warrior Riverkeeper!
